WWE News: Big Show says he wanted a reverse Undertaker record at WrestleMania

Big Show & Kane as tag team champions

The giant, Big Show seems to be making a lot of news these days, thanks to his interview with GamesRadar. The veteran in his interview has given us quite a glimpse into the lighter side of pro-wrestling.

He also did an interview with WWE Network's Table For 3 which we covered here, in which he recounts his early days in the industry and how he found his 'inner giant'. He's set to retire on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 33.

Speaking of WrestleMania, the best record at WWE's biggest event is that of The Undertaker and even after he retires there is low probability that any wrestler in the current roster will have a career that will span over 2 decades, let alone break that record.

The Deadman’s streak, although now broken has been cemented in the history of the company.

What's the other way to create history at WrestleMania? Why not have a record opposite to that of The Undertaker! That's what the Big Show wanted. Speaking to GamesRadar, he says

“I've always prided in myself in doing what's best for business. The only time when I had an ego is when I wanted to reverse the Undertaker record at WrestleMania, and they messed it up! I was 0-8 and they let me win one! Imagine being 0-22 all-time”

A weird wish but it would have been a record for sure. But he did come quite lose to achieving that record. He lost his first six WrestleMania matches but ended up winning at WrestleMania 22 when he teamed up with Kane and beat the tag team of Carlito and Chris Masters.

His current record stands at 5-11.

Here's the list of WrestleManias the giant has won-

WrestleMania 22: Big Show & Kane def. Carlito & Chris Masters

WrestleMania 26: ShoMiz def. John Morrison & R-Truth

WrestleMania 27: Big Show & Kane & Santino Marella & Kofi Kingston def. The Corre

WrestleMania 28: Big Show def. Cody Rhodes

WrestleMania 31: Won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

0-16 sure would have looked alright and would have been quite a feat to say, but not really for a man of his stature and well, size! His desire to put over other wrestlers is certainly admirable and remarkable, however.
