Sami Zayn attacked backstage by 35-year-old WWE star after being challenged for the Intercontinental Title

Sami Zayn was attacked backstage by Bronson Reed on the latest episode of WWE Monday Night RAW after the latter challenged him to a match for the Intercontinental Championship.

The Master Strategist won the coveted title at WrestleMania XL by dethroning Gunther, ending his historic reign at 666 days. He defended the title on the red brand last week against Chad Gable, the man who helped him prepare for his match against The Ring General. He won the bout but was viciously attacked by the Alpha Academy member afterwards.

Sami Zayn was interviewed backstage on RAW this week and was asked about what took place last week. He stated that he was angry and hurt but was biting his tongue because he had heard that Chad Gable was going to go out to the ring and address what he did last week.

Zayn added that he didn't see how Gable could defend his actions, and he was then confronted by Bronson Reed. The 35-year-old Aussie star told him not to worry about Chad Gable, because he has bigger problems to deal with. Zayn then asked him if he wants the Intercontinental Championship, to which Reed agreed.

Sami Zayn then told him anytime, anyplace, and Bronson Reed left. After Zayn turned back around, the big man attacked him from behind and told him that he's going to take his title.
