WWE crowned several new champions at WrestleMania XL. One of the titleholders snapped a 350-day losing streak following their big win at The Show of Shows.

World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest is at the top of WWE after getting his WrestleMania moment earlier this month. The Money in the Bank 2023 winner waited patiently for the right moment to cash in his briefcase. He did so at WrestleMania XL after newly crowned champion Drew McIntyre was attacked by CM Punk.

Following The Archer of Infamy’s big win, he broke a 350-day losing streak at live shows. While fans have seen Damian Priest pick up several singles wins on televised shows, he had gone nearly a year without winning in singles matches on live shows.

Damian Priest last won a singles match against Dolph Ziggler at a live show in France at Saturday Night’s Main Event on April 29, 2023.

He finally won a singles match at a live show again during WWE's tour to the UK. Priest successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Kofi Kingston at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on April 17, 2024.

This is a surprising fact for a man currently leading the RAW brand. He got to win the World Heavyweight Championship from one of the top superstars in the industry after taking so many losses in singles matches at live shows.

Most of Priest’s losses at live shows over the past year came against Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes. Meanwhile, he has succeeded in televised matches over the past year, where he won a few singles matches, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

Damian Priest will defend a world title for the first time in WWE soon

The Archer’s big win at WrestleMania XL came as a big surprise to many in the WWE Universe. While Drew McIntyre lost the title very quickly, the storyline for him has been excellent.

Meanwhile, Damian Priest will have a chance to hold the championship for some time. He will soon have his first world title defense in WWE against Jey Uso.

The match between the two superstars will be a show-stealer so that Priest comes across as a threatening force. He has had mixed bookings in the past, and it would be best to see him pick up a clean win over "Main Event" Jey Uso.
