Penguin Books India is delighted to announce it has acquired the official biography of Dalip Singh Rana aka former WWE wrestler The Great Khali.

Born in a large, poverty-stricken family which had literally one meal to eat, Khali rose from being a day child laborer to a global show wrestler. After a brief career in the Punjab police, Singh joined All Pro Wrestling in the US in 2000, as well as working in Mexico and Japan. The first Indian to be signed by World Wrestling Entertainment, he became World Heavyweight Champion in 2007. He has appeared in Bollywood and Hollywood movies, along with television shows, and has now set up a wrestling academy in Jalandhar where he trains young boys and men for global wrestling.

Dalip Singh Rana says:

"I am delighted to collaborate with a publisher of Penguin's stature. I have found them extremely enthusiastic in their work and visionary in their outlook, which is perfect for a book of this nature. I look forward to a long & successful association with them."

Vaishali Mathur, Executive Editor at Penguin Random House, who acquired the rights from The Book Bakers literary agency comments:

‘Khali’s is a story of exceptional achievement. The book promises to be both an emotional journey as well as inspirational one. ‘
