Damian Priest will lock horns with Main Event Jey Uso at WWE Backlash 2024 in his first title defense since winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

This match will be Priest's first title defense, but it could also be his last. From a potential loss due to a massive mistake or heartbreaking betrayal, a lot can unfold in this title clash.

Here, we look at five potential finishes to Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Backlash 2024:

#1. Damian Priest loses and turns on The Judgment Day

Tensions between Damian Priest and other members of The Judgment Day have been mounting ever since an injured Rhea Ripley left. The World Heavyweight Champion further fuelled the fire on RAW this week when he openly stated that he doesn't need The Judgment Day.

We may see JD McDonagh or Dominik Mysterio run interference and mistakenly cost Priest during the match. Even if it causes The Archer of Infamy to lose his title, we may finally see him turn on the heel faction and break all ties with The Judgment Day.

#2. Jimmy Uso returns to help Jey Uso

Repeated and unfair interferences have been common occurrences for The Judgment Day. The only other faction that knows a thing or two about using help during the matches is The Bloodline, whose former Right Hand Man will be standing across from Damian Priest. If The Judgment Day continuously interferes in the match, we may see Jimmy Uso return to his brother's aid.

Jimmy cost Jey Uso two massive championships and faced him at WrestleMania 40. Not only did Jimmy lose to his younger brother, but he was also abandoned by Solo Sikoa's new Bloodline. Jimmy has no place to go back to his brother, and the upcoming title match could act as a catalyst for The Usos' potential reunion.

#3. Drew McIntyre confronts the winner at Backlash

Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract against Drew McIntyre when the latter was still down from CM Punk's attack. Later, Jey Uso won the number one contender's match because Punk sabotaged McIntyre.

The Scottish Warrior has his grudges with both Damian Priest and Jey Uso. He is unlikely to interfere in the match and help one over the other at Backlash. However, we could see him subject the eventual winner to a brutal attack and make a threatening statement to maintain his spot in the title picture.

#4. The Judgment Day turn on Damian Priest

Although Damian Priest has been the one to express his "disappointment" in The Judgment Day, it may not be his call to split ties with the group. Last week, Finn Balor could see Priest prioritizing his title over the tag team gold. And this week, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh were visibly offended by Priest's arrogance.

Considering how Damian Priest repeatedly said he doesn't need Ther Judgment Day, we may see the heel faction turn on the champion. They could betray The Archer of Infamy and leave him hanging during his match at Backlash. Or worse, they could attack him after the match. We may likely see the group implode, leaving each member to fend for themselves.

#5. Jey Uso becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Backlash

There is no denying that Jey Uso is one of the hottest babyfaces in the company today. He has been on an incredible run as a singles superstar and has the opportunity to win his first-ever singles title in WWE at Backlash.

While potential interferences may or may not help Damian Priest, his challenger remains the biggest threat to his title. Thus, we may ultimately see Jey Uso walk out of Backlash France with the World Heavyweight Championship resting on his shoulder.
