WWE: CM Punk vs Bully Ryback and the outcome if Lesnar gets involved

What happens if Brock Lesnar joins the party?

In arguably the best segment of the night, CM Punk made another triumphant return to Chicago, at least for a few minutes. This wasn’t a return in every sense of the word but still that was one hell of an ovation for a hometown hero. And CM Punk came all blazing in a Blackhawks t-Shirt and saying every possible thing that could rile up a Chicagoan. Of course, he had to remind everyone about their Stanley Cup victory and how the road has been tough but still worth the wait for that one sweet win. Be it the Cubs or the Blackhawks, Chicago will be your most famous cheerleader.

Anyway, Paul Heyman did not disappoint either. I was not quite sure how far the Heyman-Punk storyline can be stretched but just Punk’s ovation and the bumps that he took – whether it was taking a leap from the ramp towards Ryback or being dumped on the concrete by Ryback – he took it all as they were. It was brutal and quite apt for a heel to get heat from doing that to a hometown legend.

Anyway, it’s nice to see Punk back and hopefully doing well. Heyman is doing good as well, apparently. His scooter was quite a spoiler. Even John Lauranitis could not make it look that credible.

Undoubtedly, this feud is another Ryback push and another feud with CM Punk. And this time it is bully Ryback bullying but claiming to actually not bullying anyone. Seriously, if Ryback has to sell this feud, he needs to speak more. As in, not breathe too heavy. It’s quite a distraction. And keep the bumps and the beatings to a minimum, you know. Punk does not need that at the moment. The man’s already dealing with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. And it is so well known that it is too easy to believe that he might retire in his thirties. So Ryback, please say something interesting.

On a side note, remember how last year it was rumoured that Lesnar got into a fight with Ryback backstage and Ryback had some ‘lacerations’ on his face? Well, having these two collide will be something. Ryback facing Lesnar seems more believable, but if the Goldberg chants continue, then nobody wants to remember the WrestleMania match between the two behemoths.

If Ryback has to look good in defeat, or weak and struggling, then what better way to make that happen than the powerhouse himself – Brock Lesnar (say this Heyman style!). If WWE goes with this program, and if Lesnar has the dates, then this could seriously get Ryback the attention and reaction that WWE so desperately wants from him. He needs someone intimidating to look intimidating. Cena and Punk work well for each other not because of their power or bodies but their different characteristics. Punk does well with people with some charisma on the mic. Ryback certainly needs to work on that. Paul Heyman, meanwhile, can get that job done.

But suffice to say, I’m finding ways to change the course of this feud from Punk and Ryback.
