In a tragic development, ECW Orginal Donald Haviland, better known by his moniker Hack Meyers passed away at the age of 41 after a recent brain surgery lead to complications springing up.

Hack was plagued by nagging health issues and was even pictured in the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore prior to his surgery on November 16th. AXL Rotten posted this picture a month back:

What’s sad is that the 6-foot-2 inch brawler lost his life at the age of 41, and was two days away from celebrating his 42nd birthday.

Hack was known as ‘The Shah of ECW’ and was a fan favourite among the ECW faithful. He faced the most extreme wrestlers in Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Taz, Bruiser Mastino and Chris Benoit to name a few.

Paul Heman once said that every punch and kick Hack unleashed on his opponents were met with unanimous chants of ‘Shah’. His finishing move was the Coupe De Grace, that was a top rope diving kneeling facebuster.

Our condolences go out to Meyer’s family and may his soul rest in peace.
