WWE News: WWE make a host of new signings, more to come

Mickie James has reportedly signed a 3-year deal

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE are in ‘signing mode’ right now with 4 new talents signed up this week. The biggest name in the latest batch of signing is former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James who recently faced Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Toronto who has reportedly put pen to paper on a 3-year deal with the WWE. The other signings are Kimber Lee, Heidi Lovelace, Nixie Newell and Evie.

Kimber Lee appeared on the latest episode of NXT where she faced off against Ember Moon and coming up short despite a good performance. The bunch of new signings will be required to report to the WWE Performance Center on 3rd January, 2017. Apart from these signings, Drew Gulak has also reportedly signed a new deal with WWE and is set to finish up with his commitments on the indies.

WWE have also reportedly completely revamped the way they scout the indies, with Developmental staff focusing on watching as many indie shows as possible whether they be in person or through iPPV’s. These scouts are then preparing full ‘agent reports’ on indie Superstars to track their progress – in the same way that WWE does with Superstars already signed by them. The main purpose behind this is so Triple H, William Regal and the rest of the Developmental heads can gauge the strengths and weaknesses of potential signings and to check out how well they have been progressing inside the ring.

Along with these new signing, there will also be a tryout week in the WWE Performance Center in early-February next year. PWInsider also reported that we can expect a lot more talent acquisitions in the first quarter of 2017.
