WWE News: Alexa Bliss crowned new Smackdown Women's Champion at TLC

The Wicked Witch of WWE is now the Smackdown Women’s Champion

Alexa Bliss put Becky Lynch through a table to successfully become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. She is the second champion in the lineage.

Alexa Bliss became the Number One contender to the Smackdown Women’s Championship two nights after Backlash when she defeated four other competitors. She was supposed to face Becky Lynch at No Mercy, but due to an undisclosed procedure, Becky Lynch was pulled from the card and was off television for a few weeks. They did have their rematch on November 8th on Smackdown Live, and Becky Lynch submitted Bliss in a dusty finish. The referee had missed the sight of Bliss’ feet on the ropes, thus letting Becky submit The Wicked Witch.

The two rivals finally had their rematch at TLC in a tables match, and Alexa Bliss managed to get the better of The Lass Kicker this time around. The now-former champion was in no mood to be interviewed by Dasha Fuentes after the match.

The Lass Kicker does have a rematch clause, so it should be interesting to see whether they play it out on Smackdown Live or wait till Royal Rumble. A rematch on Smackdown Live is highly possible as there is still 8 weeks till the Royal Rumble, so it is harder to drag the feud out until then. However, Becky is back to a role where she excels even more in: The babyface who is chasing the championship.
