In a recent interview with Live Audio Wrestling (LAW), Chris Jericho opened up about the kind of contract that he holds with the WWE at present. The veteran superstar claimed that ever since he returned to the business earlier this year, he has been signing short-term contracts with the current frequency being a month.

Jericho said, “My original plan when I came back last January was to stay until WrestleMania, four months. Then, it started going so good, I re-signed I think until July and then I re-signed until October, and then I re-signed until November. Now it’s basically a month by month thing.”

“I’ve got a certain timeframe in mind but I can’t even say that because what was supposed to be four has already been ten and I’m smart enough to know this,” added the first ever WWF Undisputed Champion.

Y2J also spoke about how much is enjoying his current run in the WWE and asserted that it is one of the best he’s ever had. “I’m enjoying this run as much as I had anything in my entire career and I’m going to enjoy it as long as I can and continue to build it and continue to entertain for as long as I can in the WWE,” stated Jericho.

Although he maintained that his 2008 run was better than the present one, he agreed that there is not much of a gap between the two. “I still think my 2008 Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Big Show might have been better but if it was, it’s not by far,” he told LAW.

Chris Jericho emphasised on the fact that age is not a factor for him and that he can go on as long as his body allows him to continue. According to him, he could still produce the finest match on any of the WWE shows that he appears on and the younger stars in the business don’t bother about factors like age.

“As long as physically I can go and basically look the part, I don’t really put any limits on age or anything like that. I can still go out there and have the best match of the show on any given night and I’m working with guys that are 10-15 years younger that don’t feel that,” Jericho was quoted as saying.
