WWE News: James Ellsworth reveals conversation with Vince McMahon after AJ Styles victory

‘Any man with two hands has a fighting chance’

In the latest episode of Eric Bischoff's podcast 'Bischoff on Wrestling’, James Ellsworth revealed that he was once again congratulated by Vince McMahon after his match for the World title. He stated :

“Yesterday, after the match, I got to walk up and shake his hand and he told me, “Good job.” From him it means the world [to me]. I have so much respect for him. He’s the number one guy in the business and has been for a long time.

“I never expected to even have a conversation with him, ever. For him to just look me in the eye and tell me, ‘Good job,’ that’s the most overwhelming thing to me. For sure,” he added.

McMahon loves perfection in every character portrayed by the WWE Superstars. Ellsworth’s brilliance in the role of a jobber earned him applause from the likes of Chris Jericho, Mick Foley and Chairman of WWE himself.

Maybe that’s why, he went on to have two consecutive victories over the WWE World Champion, after being squashed by Braun Strowman and destroyed by the then Intercontinental Champion The Miz. Here’s the video of his match against Strowman.

In just four appearances in WWE, James Ellsworth has won over the WWE Universe. He was supposed to be just another jobber for the ‘Monster among the men’ but the underdog persona made him popular among the fans. Ellsworth now has his own WWE theme song and official merchandise, which is selling faster than expected.

Smackdown Live is the ‘Land of opportunities’ and Ellsworth has become a common face of the blue brand for the past couple of weeks.

AJ Styles provided Ellsworth with the chance to fight him and James shockingly picked up a victory, thanks to the assistance of the special guest referee Dean Ambrose. SmackDown General Manager, Daniel Bryan granted him a World Championship match on SmackDown and once again he won.

Unfortunately, Ellsworth is not the WWE World Champion as the victory was via disqualification.
