WWE News: Lita removed from regular WWE duties, no longer with the company

Lita unveiling the new WWE Women’s title and announcing the retirement of the Divas Championship

WWE confirmed on Tuesday that Hall of Famer and Former Women’s Champion Lita had been removed from the regular weekly programming, according to f4wonline.com. Lita was an eminent face during pre-show discussion panels especially at pay-per-views alongside the likes of other Hall of Famers Booker T and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and host Renee Young.

Reports also emerged a few days ago, that Jerry Lawler was being phased out of WWE programming. Both Lawler and Lita still have a Legends contract with WWE and will be a part of shows on the WWE Network and make special appearances in events, such as the WWE Hall of Fame.

This sudden change was visible at last Sunday's TLC when radio host Peter Rosenberg joined the panel as a guest. There is a possibility that Lita could be used backstage, in another capacity in the future. But as of now, her situation is the same as Jerry Lawler’s. This is the second drastic change that Lita is going through this year. Jm Ross also confirmed that she is no longer with the company with this tweet:

Earlier in July, Lita was brought back as an on-air panelist on pre-shows. She had earlier been working behind the cameras as a producer. Lita had a glorious career in the WWE during the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression era. She is a former four-time WWE Women’s champion and had one of the most compelling rivalries with Trish Stratus.

Lita and Trish, in fact, were the first women to main-event Monday Night RAW and changed the course of history for women’s wrestling.

Lita was also involved in a bitter rivalry between Edge and Matt Hardy that became the talking point of the wrestling world. It was an intense feud, where the lines between reality and kayfabe were blurred. Lita got involved with Edge while being in a relationship with Matt Hardy, and this paved the way for the Rivalry of the Year, 2005.

Lita also unveiled the new WWE Women’s Championship title, earlier this year at WrestleMania 32, and has made appearances at other WWE Network shows such as WWE Tough Enough.
