WWE News: Triple H personally invited Kota Ibushi to take part in CWC

This year, WWE will host its first ever global tournament to determine the best cruiserweight in the world. in July. Named as the WWE CruiserWeight Classic , it starts in July, and will feature talents from various part of the globe. Japanese wrestling reporter Enuhito reported that Kota Ibushi, who is one of the participants in this tournament, was interviewed by Pro Wrestling Weekly Magazine and he talked about getting signed with WWE.

Kota Ibushi started his wrestling career in Dramatic Dream Team and worked for various promotions in Japan. During his tenure in NJPW, he won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on three different occasions and even held the Junior Tag Championship with Kenny Omega.

Ibushi confirms that the former NXT Champion Finn Balor first contacted him and asked if he could pass along his number to the head trainer for NXT, Matt Bloom. As Ibushi agreed, WWE approached him with an offer, which he turned down to focus on a different project.

Wrestlinginc.com reports that Ibushi later received a call from an unknown number, which turned out to be Triple H. Apparently, Hunter said "Moshi Moshi," which is the Japanese term for hello. They had a conversation and it led to him signing with WWE. Ibushi faced Sean Maluta at the recent Cruiserweight Classic tapings and it was said to be an "awesome match."
