WWE Rumors: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar discussed for Survivor Series

Is it happening?

WWE Hall of Famer and former colour commentator, Jim Ross tweeted out the following message regarding Goldberg’s return to the WWE.

Goldberg then responded to JR’s tweet by sending out a really cryptic message:

And, later Goldberg again tweeted out the following message:

The above tweet doesn’t rule out the possibility of a Survivor Series match, and a return sooner or later. The rumour of Bill Goldberg’s return to WWE has been heavily tossed around ever since he appeared in the video game trailer of WWE 2K17.

Veteran wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer in his latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio said that:

"There are very serious talks with Bill Goldberg going on right now, maybe more serious than... they may already be done for all I know. Everyone is avoiding the question. Where there's smoke, there's fire. ... There's something going on. Put it this way: It's in the very strong discussion stages at worst."

Meltzer also talked about Goldberg’s upcoming appearance on ESPN SportsCenter

"Everyone is avoiding the question, but where there’s smoke there’s fire, and Bill Goldberg is going to be on SportsCenter on Wednesday, and he’s going to talk about his relationship with WWE, so there’s something going on.

The rumours were further fuelled by announcer Mauro Ranallo on Smackdown Live tonight, on similar lines to how Michael Cole did the same on Monday Night Raw. Ranallo hyped Goldberg's upcoming Sportscenter appearance on ESPN with Jonathan Coachman by stating that Goldberg would be addressing his current status with the WWE as well as his relationship with the organisation.

Goldberg’s potential opponent will probably be none other than, Brock Lesnar as they both have been taking jibes at each other when asked about whether they would like to face each other or not. Lesnar and Goldberg last faced each other at Wrestlemania 20, which was Goldberg’s last match, and also Lesnar’s before he left, subsequently pursuing a career as a commentator in MMA.

The fans’ demand to see Goldberg face Lesnar each other again is quite interesting because the match they had at WrestleMania 20 was one of the worst matches in the history of the WWE.

But, that being said Lesnar is a completely different character now than what he was before, and Goldberg has that drawing power just like Lesnar and thus, it will be really interesting to see Goldberg wrestle one more match.
