WWE Rumors: WWE could be building towards Dean Ambrose vs. Shane McMahon at "Wrestlemania 33"

McMahon was upset with Ambrose for his actions at Survivor Series.

According to inquisitr.com, WWE could be planning to lay the works for a potential match up between “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose and Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 33.

The possible reason for this might be the lack of potential opponents for Dean Ambrose after his feud with AJ Styles concludes at the TLC PPV. Despite suffering an injury at Survivor Series, Shane McMahon should be ready by the time Wrestlemania arrives.

For the feud to take place, it is most likely that we might witness the much-anticipated heel turn of Ambrose, to give the feud a spark.

During past week’s edition of Smackdown Live, it was evident that there was some tension between the two men, as the commissioner, McMahon, was visibly upset with Ambrose after he helped his Shield brothers powerbomb Styles through a table at Survivor Series.

Earlier it was thought that Brock Lesnar might be the opponent for Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania after he was floored with an F-5, following Lesnar’s match against Orton at Summerslam, but that plans have come to a halt with the return of Goldberg.

Earlier it was reported by Dave Meltzer that Triple H might face Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania. The reports of Triple H facing Shane McMahon was further confirmed by the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair in the recent episode of “The Ric Flair Show”.

Further, Meltzer also mentioned that Ambrose vs. Ellsworth is in the making as well, but it is obvious that the match isn’t Wrestlemania worthy. So it most likely seems that WWE might give Shane McMahon vs. Dean Ambrose the green light.

Unless and until there are some serious call-ups from NXT, like Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe, it can be considered that Shane McMahon will be the opponent for Dean Ambrose.

Regarding the match, the pairing between these two men would be really interesting to watch in the ring, as their fondness for the “extreme” is known. Their match at Mania would probably be a street fight to bring out their hardcore sides.

This would be the right moment for Ambrose to make amends right, after his street fight against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32 didn’t do the hype any justice. The tension between these two men might continue to boil on the next edition of Smackdown Live, with Ambrose hosting the Ambrose Asylum.
