Tensions boil over with Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon

K
Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon reached their boiling point

Carmella was in the ring when the show started and as James Ellsworth was introducing her, Kevin Owens interrupted, much to the surprise of anyone. He declared himself the referee for Carmella's match against Natalya.

Shane McMahon came out to stop the shenanigans, and they had their tensed exchange, in which there was an awkward pause where Shane seemed to forget his lines. They continued the tensed exchanged which saw Kevin Owens and Shane agree that he should still have been on RAW, and Owens make some nasty comments saying that he shouldn't have survived the helicopter crash as his family would've been better off. The moment Owens brought up Shane's kids for the second time, the SmackDown Live commissioner lost it and assaulted Owens, with the action going to the announcer's desk. It took Daniel Bryan and some other backstage officials to calm Shane down and make him stop.

Great segment that ended with the crowd chanting "Shane O' Mac".

Was the SmackDown Women's Champion able to put Ms MITB down?

This time the match was happening for real. The champion established her dominance early on. Even after the commercial, it was the same story, with Natalya outpowering Ms MITB, attempting a sharpshooter. Carmella got a near-fall with a kick to the jaw.

Ellsworth threw the briefcase to Carmella for her to cash in. Carmella refused, throwing it back to Ellsworth. Natalya took advantage of the distraction and rolled up Carmella for the win.

After the match, Carmella belittled James Ellsworth, calling him a charity case, a genetic defect and crueller names. She then dumped Ellsworth, saying that they're through.

The re-debut of Dolph Ziggler

Dol
Dolph Ziggler had a weird segment

Ziggler didn't come out to anything different, but he did complain about fans not appreciating him, saying that they just want to see some gimmick. He went back in and came out to John Cena's music. Since "that didn't work out", he went back in and came out to "Macho Man" Randy Savage's music and came out with a really beautiful lady. That "didn't work" either, unsurprisingly.

He went back in once more and came out to Naomi's music and her jacket and glow wig. He stopped and complained again, saying that no one could do what he does in that ring. He went back inside. Weird segment.

Daniel Bryan makes a huge announcement

Daniel Bryan made a shocking announcement

Daniel Bryan called Commissioner Shane McMahon down to the ring. He asked Shane what he was thinking and made reference to last year on Talking Smack when The Miz belittled him about not being able to wrestle again.

He said that every week he held back punching The Miz in the face. He told Shane that he couldn't put his hands on WWE's employees. Shane agreed that he was right, but when someone spoke of his family, he goes to a blind rage.

Bryan shot back saying that WWE is in legal trouble and that he cared about the people in the back. Shane said he would smooth things over with Owens. Bryan said it was too late and the call he received backstage was from Vince McMahon, who said that Shane was suspended indefinitely.

Was the Perfect 10 able to overcome The Lone Wolf in the US title hunt?

AJ Styles was on commentary for the match. When the match started, Corbin went out of the ring and started staring at AJ. The aggressive Tye Dillinger hit a suicide dive to a distracted Corbin and attacked him outside the ring.

Back in the ring, Dillinger took him out once more. The Lone Wolf was in control after the commercial break, overpowering Dillinger.

Dillinger got his own offence in, and when he tried the Tye Breaker, he was overpowered. This led to Corbin kicking Dillinger out of the ring and slamming him against the barricade.

Corbin then looked away and started trash talking AJ, and Dillinger nearly pinned the distracted Corbin. However, he used a cheap shot to get one over Dillinger, and he finished him with the End Of Days.

After the match backstage, AJ tried to console Dillinger and gave him a United States title match next week in Las Vegas.

We had a special look at Bobby Roode's Glorious SmackDown Live arrival.

James Ellsworth was backstage begging Carmella to take him back. Carmella said that from now on things would be done her way. She kissed him and then slapped him hard. What on earth?

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Randy Orton - #1 contenders match for the WWE Championship

Ent
Shinsuke Nakamura was involved in another dream match on SmackDown Live

The match started with a wrist lock, and Randy Orton attempted an RKO from the get-go. After the break, it was all Randy Orton as he slammed The King Of Strong Style onto the ropes.

Orton attempted a mid-rope DDT to the outside, but Nakamura escaped. He then hit Nakamura with a back breaker to the table before sliding him back inside. Nakamura got Orton with a nice leg strike and then his modified leg drop.

He hit a series of kicks onto Orton who caught the last one. However, Nakamura still had the upper hand as he struck Orton's ribs when he placed him on the top ropes.

Soon after, Randy Orton hit a super-plex on Nakamura from the top ropes. It didn't help him become #1 contender, however.

Nakamura used some mind games onto Orton before striking him with a series of knees. As he attempted a Kinshasa, Orton countered it into a scoop slam. He then hit the mid-rope DDT onto The Artist.

It was time for the RKO. He attempted an RKO but The King Of Strong Style countered it into an armbar, which he then transitioned into a triangle. Orton powered out by lifting Nakamura.

Randy then attempted another RKO but was met with a knee to the back. Nakamura then hit the Kinshasha and pinned the former WWE Champion clean.

Backstage, Kevin Owens was walking and Daniel Bryan went up to him, saying that someone next week would be addressing the situation. Kevin Owens shrugged it off, assuming it would be Shane's wife. Daniel Bryan said that it would be Vince McMahon himself coming.

The camera went back to the ring showing Nakamura celebrating his victory, concluding a brilliant episode of SmackDown Live.
