WWE Top 5 Rumors of the week and Analysis: May 2, 2016

Huge plans for Brock in place

It was a pay-per-view week in WWE and that only fuelled the rumor mill and sent it into high gear. While Payback is attracting a lot of attention about how WWE is going to use Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows there were some other interesting topics that were worth speculating about.

The injury update about Bray Wyatt, Bayley, and Randy Orton was just one among the list. WWE’s plans to bring back a major stipulation match proved to be another major rumor from the past week.

Injury updates on Bray Wyatt and Bayley

Bray could be out for a long time

From the looks of it, Bray Wyatt is apparently going to be out for around six to eight weeks. WWE did indeed have some solid plans for the Eater of the World post-WrestleMania but the injury is working against him. This is, however, still a rumor, and Bray could surprise everyone by staying on television without actually wrestling.

As far as Bayley is concerned, there were rumors about a potential ACL injury haunting her, but speculations suggest that it is nothing serious. Bayley is not expected to miss any quality time due to the same but it will be a different story for Randy Orton who is going to be out of action for nearly three more months.

Prince Puma to stay in Lucha Underground

Ricochet could stay in Lucha Underground

WWE’s intentions of bringing in Ricochet who currently wrestles as Prince Puma in Lucha Underground could go in vain. Lucha Underground apparently has big plans for Ricochet for the upcoming seasons of Lucha Underground and at the same time, his contract runs all the way to 2017 meaning that he will not be in WWE anytime soon.

Another major rumor involving WWE saw Conor McGregor as the protagonist. WWE’s official website featured a headline which said ‘Is MMA star Conor McGregor heading to WWE?’ to add fuel to the already strong rumors about a potential association between the two parties after Conor’s relationship with UFC went down the drain.

War games to return

Pulled a Snape when we saw this

WWE’s habit of taking trips to the past might continue as they are thinking about bringing back the War Games match. Although the match has never been performed under the WWE banner, it has a long running legacy and was kept away from the WWE product all these time due to the element of danger that it involved.

SummerSlam or Survivor Series is the most likely platform if the War Games is returning and WWE possibly dropped a huge hint on the same by adding the previous matches to WWE Network. Even if WWE brings back the War Games, expect it to be a toned down version as the current PG product might not accommodate the blood baths that we used to see in the past.

Jack Swagger might stay

Here to stay apparently

A week back there were some rumors about Jack Swagger leaving WWE. He tweeted saying ‘Best Job I ever had, Last Day #WWEGlasgow” from his official Twitter account and it drove the internet into rumor mode.

Swagger, who had not been in any major feuds for some reason or the other, apparently just wanted to say that it was the last day of the WWE’s tour and didn’t mean that it was his last day in the company.

The fact that Swagger had been overlooked all this time coupled with the tweet is what gave birth to the rumors but on a larger picture, this one is just a rumor about another rumor.

WrestleMania plans for Brock Lesnar

Brock vs. Rock in the cards?

Vince McMahon is in the process of planning a huge match for WrestleMania 33 involving Brock Lesnar. The Beast faced Dean Ambrose in a No holds barred match this year and Vince was not happy with how Lesnar was ‘wasted’ in this match. For someone who makes around six million per year, Vince felt that Lesnar should’ve been used more creatively.

To solve the problem, Vince is now planning to pit Lesnar against Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson at WrestleMania 33. The chances of the match materializing are low due to the heavy schedule of The Rock, but if Vince pulls it off, it would be a great thing for the fans and the company.
