Who should WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar eventually lose to?

Brock Lesnar-He has to lose eventually

At Summerslam, the unthinkable happened- John Cena lost clean without even much of a fight. Brock Lesnar only seemed stronger and stronger as the match progressed. The win seemed like a piece of cake. I never thought the perennial face of the company, the invincible John Cena suffered a loss that resounding.

With this WWE has made two things quite clear- One is that John Cena will be off for movie promotions and won’t be as ever-present as he has been for the past 10 years. Secondly, Brock Lesnar is unstoppable.

Lesnar broke the streak and then he beat Cena clean, a privilege that hasn’t been given to any full time young, upcoming superstar or any other star of the moment.

Better than The Best

It has justifiably made Lesnar look like a force to be reckoned with. And having someone like that as the champion of the biggest title in the WWE is a great concept. That is what worked from 2002-2004. But Lesnar was a full time superstar then but not anymore. He’ll be making select appearances just like the Rock did last year. The only difference between these two part timers is that The Rock’s gimmick is hugely based upon and popular because of his mic skills which are not the same. He talks more like a celebrity than the Brahma Bull-y he used to be whereas Lesnar just uses his mere presence to make a statement. Having Paul Heyman return to be his advocate works better than having Lesnar do all the talking. So, his reign, I predict, will be much better than the Rocks.

The Trend

Let’s hope Lesnar’s part time schedule somehow does not affect his reign. But going by WWE standards in the past one year, they have made every historic moment or every record end at the hands of a part timer. They made Undertaker’s historic streak end at the hands of Lesnar, so did John Cena’s squeaky clean record of never giving up. The Rock ended CM Punk’s 434 days old WWE championship reign.

So going by this, will they have an upcoming superstar beat Lesnar or will they have another veteran or part timer beat Lesnar. I think Cena might eventually get his revenge. He faces Lesnar at Night Of Champions. But Lesnar losing seems to be a long shot given that he’s just won it and his phenomenol momentum has just taken even more steam.

This might be the opportunity where WWE will try to put Reigns over as the next big thing by making him beat the original ‘Next Big Thing’.

Not the Right Time For The Roman Empire

Reigns is slowly but steadily being built as the next John Cena. Some have already started to count his moves and have begun to find him boring. Some are already making statements like he’s been ‘shoved down’ everyone’s throats.

It will be something to look out for, whenever Lesnar momentum meets its eventual demise. But that day has to be a bit far off in the future. Al good things should not come to an end so soon.

At Night Of Champions, Cena might put up more of a fight but end up on the losing side.

In my humble opinion, having Reigns beat Lesnar is an obvious speculation to come true.

The G.O.A.T Returns

But what if the biggest babyface in the WWE right now, Daniel Bryan, returns to take what was taken away from him. He never really lost his title.

The logical thing to do will be for David to beat Goliath. This is a dream match for some where MMA will be in full motion.

And Daniel Bryan is popular enough to carry that win forward. And then maybe, the company can execute what they’ve been wanting for some time and that is to have Reigns be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion
