Chelsea vs Liverpool: Match Preview

[gallery link="file" columns="2" orderby="ID"] CHELSEA FC Andre Villas-Boas' Chelsea side will play host to Liverpool this Sunday, as the Portuguese manager looks to get his team back to winning ways. The 34-year old has faced a torrid couple of weeks in the Stamford Bridge hotseat and will be under pressure to win over the weekend, and keep the Blues among the top four in the league table. Chelsea have fallen to defeats against Manchester United, QPR and Arsenal this season, while only just managing to edge out a win against Blackburn Rovers in their last league match. The performances have not been convincing, especially considering the huge expectations placed on Villas-Boas. The Blues are currently in fourth place, however Tottenham Hotspur are level on points with a game in hand over their London rivals.

Man to watch: Frank Lampard

[caption id="attachment_79118" align="aligncenter" width="464" caption="Lampard's current form has silenced all his critics"][/caption] With six goals in ten games, Frank Lampard is Chelsea's leading goal-scorer so far this season. The 33-year old also scored a crucial goal against Spain in midweek for England and is in the form of his life at the moment. But more importantly, Lampard has been able to find the net against Liverpool in important games and could well seal the three points for Chelsea this Sunday. Possible Line-up: Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Cole; Lampard, Mikel, Ramires; Mata, Torres, Sturridge LIVERPOOL FC Kenny Dalglish will be quite positive when his team travel to London this Sunday. The Reds were able to come away with all three points the last time they visited Stamford Bridge in the league. And not many will argue that with the current form Chelsea are in, there is not a better time for Liverpool to play the 2010 double winners. The challenge for Dalglish however will be to get his side to take their chances. The Reds were held to a goalless draw against Swansea City at home in their last league encounter and now find themselves in sixth place, leading Arsenal only by goal difference. For Liverpool, the game on Sunday would be the perfect time to pick up performances and morale after the disappointing showing against Swansea.

Luis Suarez scored four goals for his country in midweek

The Uruguayan striker is set to make his first appearance against the Blues and will be out to impress. Having racked up four goals in the ten games he has started for the Merseyside club, the talented No. 7 could well be the difference between the two sides, and also show Fernando Torres that he is not missed at his former club. Possible Line-up: Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique; Henderson, Lucas, Adam, Downing; Carroll, Suarez
