AEW has grown in traction over the past couple of years. As a result, several of the company's talent have also gained a lot of exposure on the big stage. All Elite Wrestling's surge in popularity has presented numerous opportunities for several talents to feature in high-profile ventures outside the promotion. Also, the company is home to talent who have already appeared in productions outside the pro wrestling industry.
With that said, let's take a look at three AEW stars who appeared in movies.
#3. Mercedes Mone
Mercedes Mone became a household name among fans during her time in WWE. She was involved in several iconic moments and matches. The CEO played a key role in revolutionizing the women's division in the sports entertainment juggernaut.

Her popularity in the Stamford-based promotion presented her with many opportunities outside the company. She made appearances in TV shows like The Mandalorian and Fight Like a Girl. However, she didn't make her film debut until after she left the company.
Mone walked out of WWE in 2022 along with Naomi due to creative differences with Vince McMahon and the company. Their walkout was controversial because they were the reigning Women's Tag Team Champions at the time. The following year, the CEO made her film debut in The Collective. The movie had its theatrical release on August 4, 2023.
#2. Cope
Just like Mercedes Mone, Cope became a household name in WWE, where he started as a tag team wrestler with Christian Cage. After revolutionizing tag team wrestling in the company, The Rated R Superstar broke out as a singles star, a move that paved the way for his legendary career. Due to his increasing popularity and good looks, Cope started appearing in movies early on in his WWE run.
He made his acting debut in Highlander: Endgame, in which he played the role of Lachlan. Following his first retirement in 2011, Copeland pursued an acting career and went on to play two of his most notable roles, Dwight Hendrickson in Haven and Kjetill Flatnose in Vikings. As of this writing, his last TV role was as Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
#1. AEW star Hook just made his movie debut
Hook made his AEW debut in 2021 and quickly gained traction due to his winning streak early on in his career. He was even named Rookie of the Year in 2022 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Hook has been a regular feature on AEW in recent years.
The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil landed himself a role in a short film called "Money Talks." The film recently made its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. Hook's father, Taz, also took to social media to express his sentiments regarding his son's milestone.
"We went to the movies tonight! HOOK on the BIG screen…tonight was world premiere of Money Talks @Tribeca @AngelikaFilm_NY @730hook"
