WWE hosted its annual Money in the Bank Premium Live Event last weekend at Intuit Dome in California. Like every year, this year's show featured a men's and women's MITB Ladder Match.

Naomi won the Women's ladder match while Seth Rollins won the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase. The gimmick bout was first introduced in 2005, and since then, several winners have emerged, including stars who are now part of All Elite Wrestling.

In this article, let's take a look at three AEW stars who have previously won the Money in the Bank ladder match.

#3. Jon Moxley

Before becoming the face of AEW, Jon Moxley worked for the WWE for several years under the ring name Dean Ambrose. Although he was more known for his time as a member of The Shield, Moxley enjoyed a pretty decent singles run.

He participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2016 alongside Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro (now known as Claudio Castagnoli), Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. Mox managed to pick up the win and then cashed in his contract just 57 minutes later on Seth Rollins, who just won a tiring match against Roman Reigns. The current AEW World Champion defeated his former stablemate to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

#2. Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson had a great success in WWE before joining AEW in 2021. During his time in World Wrestling Entertainment, he won multiple World Titles and was one of the most popular stars on the roster. However, many fans may have forgotten that Bryan's rise to the top in the company happened because of the MITB Ladder Match.

Danielson won the ladder match in 2011 and first attempted to cash in on Mark Henry on the November 25, 2011, episode of SmackDown. However, this cash-in was reversed by then-blue brand's General Manager Teddy Long, as Henry wasn't medically cleared to compete.

The American Dragon then cashed in his contract again on The Big Show following the latter's title defense at the TLC Premium Live Event on December 18, 2011, after Show was hit with a steel chair by Mark Henry. This led to Danielson winning his first WWE World Title.

#1. Cope was the first person to ever win the Money in the Bank briefcase

Cope initially gained significant traction in WWE as a tag team wrestler. However, he got his first big break as a singles star due to his participation in the MITB Ladder Match. The former Edge was part of the first-ever Money in the Bank Ladder match, which took place at WrestleMania 21. He competed alongside Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Christian, Kane, and Shelton Benjamin.

The Rated R Superstar went on to hold the contract for 280 days before he cashed in on John Cena for the WWE Championship at New Year's Revolution in 2006 after the latter retained the title in an Elimination Chamber match.

This win established Cope as a future star in the company and paved the way for the Rated R Superstar to enjoy a legendary singles run. The veteran is currently enjoying his run in AEW and is rumored to make his return ahead of All In 2025.
