Konnan has made several appearances on AEW, but the legend’s most recent appearance was not too good for him. He faced off with Tully Blanchard in the ring to promote Santana and Ortiz’s match against FTR, but during the appearance, things went wrong.

He had previously appeared in the Stadium Stampede match when FTR fought Santana and Ortiz in the club. However, during the face-off, instead of Santana and Ortiz, FTR showed up wearing hoodies. They attacked the legend and beat him down, before hitting him with a Spike Piledriver.

On August 12, 2020, AEW was hosting Tag Team Appreciation Night. Legendary tag teams such as Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard appeared with The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express. They appeared with The Young Bucks and FTR. The two new tag teams expressed their respect for the two legendary teams.

Anderson called FTR the best tag team in the world, while Ricky Morton called The Young Bucks the current best team. Shawn Spears appeared and Anderson left the ring, following which there was a scuffle in the ring. The Young Bucks left the ring to talk to Blanchard and Spears. Blanchard was seemingly upset, and FTR chose that moment to attack The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express. They hit Morton with a spiked piledriver and took out Gibson.

Soon afterward, Tully Blanchard would be revealed as FTR’s manager.
