The second night of AEW New Year's Smash did not disappoint. We had two championship matches on the card with both the TNT Championship and the NWA Women's Championship on the line tonight. We also had a special edition of The Waiting Room hosted by Dr. Britt Baker.

Also on the card, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega was set to be in action alongside The Elite although Don Callis had a surprise in store for fans there. We also had The Inner Circle on the show tonight, opening up about their new year's resolutions.

PAC vs Eddie Kingston kicked off AEW Dynamite

The second night of AEW New Year's Smash started with PAC facing Eddie Kingston in singles action.

Eddie Kingston was already in the ring when the broadcast began. PAC charged down to the ring as soon as his entrance music hit and he went straight after Eddie Kingston, immediately forcing him to roll out of the ring. PAC then wiped him out with a dive over the ropes. The two men continued to brawl out at ringside and this wasn't the only time the action would spill out to ringside during this match.

Back in the ring, Kingston and PAC continued to go back and forth. Eddie Kingston seemed to be favoring his left arm at one point. Kingston went to plant PAC with DDT but he held on to the ropes. PAC took full advantage of the situation and dragged Kingston over to the corner.

PAC then headed to the top rope and hit Eddie Kingston with the Black Arrow and covered him for the win. A great match to kick off the second night of AEW New Year's Smash.

Things almost broke down in the ring following the match as The Butcher and The Blade faced off against Fenix and Penta. Lance Archer's music hit as things were on the verge of breaking down and he forced The Butcher, The Blade, and PAC to back off. There was also some tension between PAC and Archer himself.

Chuck Taylor vs Miro

A lot was at stake in this AEW match. If Trent lost, he would be forced to be Miro's butler for a month.

After Miro put Trent on the shelf, Chuck Taylor looked for revenge as he faced Miro in singles action on the second night of AEW New Year's Smash. Chuckie T made a strong start to the match and was all over the former WWE Superstar. He hit Miro with a dive over the top ropes before following it up with a double stomp from the apron.

Miro hit back with a monstrous Samoan Drop, planting Chuckie T in the middle of the ring. The Best Man followed it up with a series of right hands and then a massive spinning leg lariat. Miro followed it up with his patented thrust kick to the jaw, dropping Chuckie T to the mat. Miro then forced Chuck Taylor to tap out in the middle of the ring.

Miro locked eyes with Orange Cassidy who was at ringside after the AEW match was over. Another impressive performance from Miro. He looks like he's in the best shape of his career and is performing like an absolute beast at this moment in time.

The Inner Circle announce their new year's resolutions on AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho said 2020 was big for The Inner Circle but 2021 would be even bigger for the AEW faction.

MJF said that his resolution for 2021 was to strengthen his bonds with the rest of The Inner Circle. Ortiz said that he would be looking to perfect his grandmother's sofrito recipe. Chris Jericho said that he would be looking to win the AEW Tag Team Championships alongside MJF.

Santana said that he and Ortiz were handpicked to be in the Inner Circle. Sammy Guevara wasn't happy either and accused him of rotating a number of tag partners. Sammy was not in a good mood but Chris Jericho calmed him down. Jericho then announced a big exhibition match next week in a triple threat tag team match to determine the official tag team of The Inner Circle - Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara vs Santana and Ortiz versus Chris Jericho and MJF.

We got a backstage segment with The Dark order after the match. Hangman Page will be in action alongside them next week on AEW Dynamite.

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers vs The Varsity Blondes and Danny Limelight on AEW Dynamite

It originally looked like it would be Kenny Omega teaming up with The Young Bucks tonight on AEW Dynamite but Don Callis announced that it would actually be The Good Brothers teaming up with Kenny Omega.

Kenny Omega went after Danny Limelight as soon as the bell rang while The Good Brothers attacked Griff Garrison and Brian Plllman Jr out at ringside. Danny Limelight looked impressive early on but Gallows wiped him out with a lariat. The Varsity Blondes then took it upon themselves to clothesline Gallows out of the ring.

Kenny Omega continued to dominate Danny Limelight before tagging Karl Anderson in. Anderson continued to dominate as the AEW show headed into the commercial.

Kenny Omega was the legal man after AEW came back from the commercial. Limelight hit a springboard hurricanrana and went for the tag but Omega stopped him in his tracks. Limelight hit back with an enzuigiri and both men tagged out. Pillman and Anderson came in as the legal men. The Varsity Blondes double-teamed Anderson but it wasn't enough for the pin.

Omega and The Good Brothers then isolated Griff Garrison in the middle of the ring. Anderson caught him with a running boot but it only got a nearfall. Limelight tagged himself in and was met by a Spinebuster. The Good Brothers followed it up with a Magic Killer to Danny Limelight for the win.

Jon Moxley's music hit after the match and the former AEW World Champion made his way down to the ring and charged at Kenny Omega. However, Moxley was hopelessly outnumbered. Fenix and Pentagon came out to come to Moxley's aid. Penta and Fenix brawled with The Good Brothers at ringside, leaving Omega and Moxley in the ring.

A number of wrestlers and referees came out from the back to separate them. This led the Young Bucks to also come out on AEW Dynamite. The Bucks were blindsided and superkicked by Fenix and Penta.

The Waiting Room with special guest Cody Rhodes on AEW Dynamite

The Waiting Room hosted by Dr. Britt Baker made its AEW Dynamite debut tonight. The first Waiting Room on Dynamite saw former TNT Champion Cody Rhodes as the first guest.

Britt Baker introduced Cody as the first guest before announcing that she had a second surprise guest. Her second guest turned out to be none other than Jade Cargill. Cargill came in and snatched the mic from Cody. She then told Cody that she wanted her opponent and was tired of waiting. Cargill then pushed Cody across the face.

Red Velvet came onto the set and confronted Jade Cargill in the middle of the set. Red Velvet didn't back down and slapped Cargill across the face. Cargill hit back with a nasty slap of her own. We saw a number of AEW stars come onto the set and physically separate Red Velvet and Jade Cargill.

Thunder Rosa came on the screen following The Waiting Room segment announcing that she would be facing Dr. Britt Baker in singles action at AEW Beach Break next month.

Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt vs FTR on AEW Dynamite

The former AEW World Tag Team Champions were in action next as they took on Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt of Jurassic Express. FTR have only lost to The Young Bucks so far in their AEW career and came out looking to impress once again.

Marko Stunt and Cash Wheeler started the match for their respective teams. Wheeler carried Marko over to their corner and tagged in Dax Harwood. Stunt slapped Harwood across the face and that was definitely a mistake. Harwood suplexed Stunt across the ring and tagged in Wheeler. FTR then pulled Marko up by the hair and slammed him back down onto the mat.

Stunt tagged in Jungle Boy and they hit both Wheeler and Harwood with crisp double team maneuvers, clearing the ring. Marko Stunt then hit both members of FTR with a suicide dive before Jungle Boy followed it up with a springboard moonsault.

Back from the commercial, FTR were back on top. They had Marko Stunt isolated as they traded tags and continued to work him over. Wheeler locked in a Gory Special but Marko reversed it into a roll-up. Both men tagged out and Jungle Boy came in on the hot tag. Jungle Boy was all over FTR before Stunt tagged back in. Marko hit Harwood with a low blow before hitting a Sliced Bread for a nearfall.

Tully Blanchard got involved from ringside, getting in a shot on Marko Stunt. FTR then hit Stunt with the Big Rig and pinned him.

Serena Deeb (C) vs Tay Conti (for the NWA Women's Championship)

The champion made a strong start to the AEW match, taking Tay Conti down. Serena Deeb then blocked a kick from Tay Conti and took her down. Conti replied by locking in a Hell Hook as she looked for an upset.

Deeb took Tay Conti down with a wristlock before Conti replied with a triangle hold. It wasn't enough to stop Deeb in her tracks and the NWA Women's Champion replied with a running strike. Both women tried a roll-up but both got 2-counts. Conti replied with a pump kick as the AEW show cut to commercial.

Back from the break, Serena Deeb went for the Serenity Lock but Conti had it scouted. Deeb followed it by locking in a Gory Special against the top turnbuckle. Conti replied with another Pump Kick. Conti looked to follow it up with the Tay-KO but Deeb blocked it and successfully reverse. Serena Deeb then hit Tay Conti with the Detox and pinned her in the middle of the AEW ring. An excellent match ad a very impressive performance by Tay Conti.

Darby Allin (C) vs Brian Cage (for the TNT Championship)

Darby Allin went right after Brian Cage's knee as soon as the bell rang but his momentum did not last long on AEW. The action soon spilled out to ringside and Cage sent Darby Allin through the table in the time keeper's area. Allin was busted open and his face was covered in blood.

Back in the ring, Cage tossed Allin around the ring like a sack of potatoes. Cage continued to club Allin as AEW headed to the commercial.

Brian Cage continued to punish Darby after the AEW show was back from the break but he just could keep the defiant champion down. Cage followed it up with a powerbomb onto the entrance ramp. Cage deadlifted Allin and hit him with a suplex back into the ring. It still wasn't enough to put the champion away.

Cage then headed out to AEW ringside and set up the steel steps at ringside. Darby pushed Cage onto the steps before heading to the top turnbuckle and hitting a Coffin Drop onto the steps. Both men rolled back into the ring and Allin hit Cage with a slap across the face. Darby then used his belt to tie up Cage's legs and punched him in the back of the head.

Cage freed himself but Darby Allin caught him with a Code Red for a nearfall. The champion followed it up with a shotgun dropkick for a two-count. Allin headed to the top rope but Ricky Starks pushed him off. The lights went out at this point and Sting appeared at the AEW ringside with his baseball bat and took care of Starks. Darby Allin used the opening to hit a Crucifix Bomb from the top rope top pin Brian Cage.
