A former champion is set to compete against Bobby Lashley's Hurt Syndicate on AEW Dynamite. Ahead of this match, he has sent a bold message.
Kevin Knight first made a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he is a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion along with Kushida. He first made his AEW debut on an episode of DARK in 2022 and returned to the company earlier this year on the March 29 episode of Collision against Jay White. Since then, he has been a regular feature on TV.
Last week at Fyter Fest, he, along with Speedball Mike Bailey and Komander, made the bold decision to confront the Hurt Syndicate during their segment. Following their match against La Faccion Ingobernable, Lashley and his faction tried to attack them, but the babyfaces managed to fight them off.
This week on AEW Summer Blockbuster, Mike Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight are set to team together against the Hurt Syndicate. Ahead of this match, Knight took to social media to send a bold message.
"Tonight we start hurting some feelings👊🏽 #AEWSummerBlockbuster"

Bully Ray slams AEW for Bobby Lashley's booking during Fyter Fest
Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Syndicate have proven themselves to be a dominant faction in recent months. Hence, MJF was interested in joining the group. When they tried to ambush Komander, Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight last week at Fyter Fest, it looked like the babyfaces were in trouble. However, Knight's team surprised fans by fending off the Hurt Syndicate.
Bully Ray addressed the segment during a recent edition of Busted Open After Dark, stating that the babyface team shouldn't have been able to fight off Lashley's group.
“And Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin get in the ring—and Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey proceed to beat them down. Not beat them down, but you know… dropkick, dropkick, something here, something there. And they bumped out Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley. Complete, total, utter bullsh*t. No way. I’m not buying it. I’m not buying it on any day of the week. I’m not buying it in any federation. I’m not buying it. No way,” he said.
It will be interesting to see who will emerge victorious this week.
