Former AEW World Champion MJF's next appearance has been confirmed.
MJF is one of AEW's best homegrown talents. He showcased tremendous potential right from the start of his AEW run and was involved in feuds with Cody Rhodes and several top stars. He quickly became known for his exceptional mic skills as well as his in-ring IQ.
Maxwell quickly rose through the ranks and won the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. He would then go on to have the longest title reign in the company's history before losing the title to Samoa Joe at AEW World's End 2023.
Since this loss, Maxwell has been off television and was even removed from the company's roster page, fuelling rumors that he was leaving for WWE. However, his next appearance has now been confirmed.
Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo is set to take place between April 26 and 28. The Expo has listed MJF on their website and he is supposed to make an appearance on April 28 to do a photo op and sign autographs.
Even AEW stars Brody King, Danhausen, Julia Hart, Kyle Fletcher, Ricky Starks, Samoa Joe, Skye Blue, Sting, and former WWE stars Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, and Mustafa Ali are all set to make appearances at the expo.
Tony Khan addressed MJF's AEW status
Ever since he lost the world title to Samoa Joe, MJF's name hasn't been mentioned on television. His merchandise was also removed from AEW stores. Given that he was teasing a bidding war between AEW and WWE once his contract was up, many people believed that he might choose to leave Tony Khan's promotion.
During the AEW Dynasty media scrum, Tony Khan opened up on the former World Champion's status with the company and said that he would like to have him back in AEW soon.
"Well, yes, uhh MJF, one of the biggest stars in AEW, we haven't seen him in recent months, and I would love to get MJF back here soon. Sooner or later, or like really soon, you know, we've got so many great things happening and I think that would be really added if he's one of our great wrestlers and we've had great things happening in AEW lately, you know," said Khan.
