Thunder Rosa is a former AEW Women's Champion

Former AEW Women's Champion Thunder Rosa has been out of action for the past nine months. Although she made an appearance at last week's episode of AEW Dynamite, the superstar is yet to make her in-ring return. There have been reports of Rosa needing to get surgery for her back injury, which would push back her return date even further.

Despite her appearance in Dynamite, there is a lot of ambiguity regarding the direction of Rosa's career to this point. Her run in AEW as of the last year has been very shaky, starting from the point at which she got injured. Aside from the physical pain she suffered from the injury, she revealed that she was also affected by the comments of people regarding her whole injury scenario.

La Mera Mera appeared on Busted Open Radio to narrate her entire injury experience. She mentioned that a huge part that took a toll on her was reading and hearing people commenting on how her injury could've been faked. She felt overwhelmed by the lack of support from people, and this added to her physical distress. These comments were ignorant of the efforts she put in the ring, and she was undeserving of them.

She would go on to tell that she had suicidal thoughts at a point in her time away from the ring.

"There were days that I — I’m gonna be honest and I’ve said it on my YouTube channel, I wanted to kill myself. Everything stopped and there’s nothing you can do and I’m so thankful that I have a really good team and a really good family." [H/T wrestlingheadlines]

In recent times, it seems like Thunder Rosa has taken the time to unwind and enjoy her life as it is now. The AEW superstar seems to be doing much better as of late, and fans will just have to wait for more updates on her return to the ring.

AEW superstar Thunder Rosa's return is still up in the air

Despite her surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite last week, there hasn't been official confirmation of Thunder Rosa's in-ring return.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the latest update regarding Thunder Rosa's injury is that she may need to undergo back surgery, which could push back her return.

It seems like Rosa's in-ring return is one big question mark. Everyone will simply have to wait for updates, but hopefully, fans will be able to see the former Women's Champion back in the ring.
