Speaking on the G1 Climax presser, the English professional wrestler declared Bryan Danielson his inspiration and admitted that the AEW star gave him the boost he needed.
“I’m really grateful for him [Bryan Danielson] saying he believed in me. He’s someone that’s inspired me from the beginning of my career, and when you have a rival and contemporary like that who believes in you, that gave me the boost I needed,” he said. [H/T: NJPW]

The American Dragon will look to capture the AEW World Championship and save his career when he locks horns with Swerve Strickland in a Title vs. Career Match at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
During a recent interaction with The Sun Sport, the former WWE Superstar claimed that his upcoming encounter with Strickland might be the biggest match of his career.
"This feels to me like the biggest match of my career. I put my career on the line. If I lose, I’m gonna retire. I’m at that stage of my career; if I can’t win the AEW World Championship, then I should probably be kind of done. So yeah, I’m really looking forward to it. For us, for people of my generation, Wembley is a culturally iconic moment within wrestling," he said.
It will be interesting to see if the veteran dethrones Swerve Strickland this Sunday.
