During this week's episode of WWE SmackDown, CM Punk seemingly fired a subtle shot at AEW during the opening of the show in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

The Straight Edge Superstar was advertised to be in attendance for the show, as he was set to provide the opening segment and issue an update on his health. This comes almost a week after he interfered during Drew McIntyre's match at the Clash at the Castle PLE, held in McIntyre's home country of Scotland.
During his entrance tonight, CM Punk was running around ringside, all hyped up and excited to be in front of his home crowd. He then went to the cameraman at ringside and pulled him close, as he wanted him to show the crowd. He was seemingly showing off the large attendance they had, even at the hard camera side of the arena.

He seemed to be rubbing in the jam-packed crowd, something AEW has failed to do for their recent shows, as the hard camera side of the arena has often been unoccupied at times.
It also seems that in the end, CM Punk's departure from the Tony Khan-led promotion after his two-year tenure with them worked out for him, as he stands as one of the most popular WWE Superstars currently.

Enzo Curabo
Enzo is a Pro Wrestling journalist at Sportskeeda, reporting on AEW. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Studies, which influenced his decision of taking up sports writing professionally, and has been an avid fan of the athletic theater since childhood. He believes readers deserve authentic and unique content and aims to report in a manner which pro wrestling fans can easily relate to.
Growing up, Enzo admired former world champions like AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Triple H, and Randy Orton for their finishing moves. As an adult, he started to appreciate their character work, as they juggled between heel and babyface gimmicks.
If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
Other than pro wrestling, Enzo enjoys keeping up with Basketball, Football, and Formula One. He also loves watching films, playing video games, and listening to music.
