A debuting AEW star just got squashed in under two minutes by Big Bill on the latest episode of Rampage. This was essentially a squash match as the 37-year-old star was trying to impress Chris Jericho.
The new name on the block was Trevor Blackwell. Blackwell was making his debut and it was not the best match for him as Big Bill was looking to send out a message to the Learning Tree. The former WWE Superstar spent almost the entire time talking to Jericho.
Big Bill hit Blackwell with a black hole slam, then a short arm clothesline, and that had him reeling. However, Bill was not done inflicting punishment as he hit his opponent with a Chokeslam and got the win by putting his feet on him as the referee made the three-count.
When all of this was happening, Chris Jericho was seen watching the action from the back and it seemed like he was deeply impressed with what he saw from the former AEW World Tag Team Champion. It looks more and more likely that Jericho is going to take Big Bill under his wing as he looks set to forge his name as a singles competitor in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
