Fans convinced two former world champions are coming back to AEW on Dynamite’s 5-year Anniversary show

Fans recently reacted to the possibility of two top AEW stars returning to the company after a lengthy absence. The stars being discussed are Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi. Both stars are former IWGP World Heavyweight Champions and The Cleaner is also a former AEW World Champion.

The company is getting ready to produce a massive show as it crosses the 5th-year mark since the inception of Dynamite this Wednesday. The promotion has announced a great lineup for the event with Ricochet and Will Ospreay potentially headlining it for the International Championship. Fans believe Golden Lovers could return to the show.

Kenny Omega has been out of action since December 2023 after suffering from diverticulitis while Kota Ibushi hasn't been in the promotion since November 2023. He got injured in early 2024 and returned to action this July with a major promotion. Also, a report earlier claimed that the two stars will likely return together in AEW. Interestingly, Ibushi has been posting pictures of them training together recently.

Kota Ibushi recently took to Instagram and revealed that he and Kenny have finished their training and will return to the promotion soon.

Fans believe both the stars will return to the Jacksonville-based promotion this Wednesday. Many believe they will feud with The Young Bucks and win the AEW World Tag Team Championship from them.

Kenny Omega got physical amid AEW absence

The Cleaner underwent major surgery after suffering from diverticulitis and is seemingly on his way back to the promotion.

Kenny Omega recently took to Twitter and claimed that he was put in a Cobra Twist hold by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu.

"I never imagined that the first wrestling move I received after my major surgery was the legendary Uematsu's Cobra Twist! His technique was perfect, and there was no escaping it. I had no choice but to give up in order to avoid ending my career!" he wrote.

It will be interesting to see when will the Golden Lovers show up in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
