The AEW roster is loaded with close to 200 wrestlers, on-air talents, and other personalities. A fan-favorite who has held multiple roles with the Jacksonville-based promotion and has appeared for WWE in the past has just shared an update after an extended in-ring absence, and now supporters from all major wrestling companies have publicly reached out.
Rebel spent seven years with TNA, OVW, Stardom, and other companies before AEW hired her in August 2019 as a behind-the-scenes makeup and hair stylist. She debuted in the storylines around 10 months later and ended up working 13 matches for Tony Khan's promotion. While the 46-year-old has not wrestled for Khan since August 21, 2022, she did work a GLCW event in February 2024. The former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader took to Instagram today and revealed that she was still recovering from a tumor that hospitalized her in May 2024.
Rebel's update brought supportive reactions from across the wrestling world. Fans, analysts, and talents publicly encouraged the fan-favorite, including Jade Cargill. The WWE Superstar sent all her love to Rebel.
"All the love Rebel 🫶🏻," Jade Cargill wrote.
Rebel responded to the former AEW star with a thank you and a heart emoji. Gail Kim looked forward to seeing her former co-worker soon and expressed confidence in her recovery.
"Can’t wait to see you and sending all positivity! You’ll get through this all 💪🏻💪🏻," Gail Kim wrote.
Rebel responded to Kim with raised hands and heart emojis. Below are reactions from Renee Paquette, MJF, The Bunny, ODB, Tonga Loa, Indi Hartwell, ODB, Tamina Snuka, and All Elite Wrestling executive Megha Parekh, among others:
