Taz has been absent from AEW TV for a while. In the midst of his absence, he provided a health update to which Jim Ross has responded.
Taz joined the AEW commentary team in 2019. He was initially involved as an onscreen manager for Team Taz before eventually settling into his role as a commentator. This has kept him out of any storylines until recently.
Several weeks ago, Taz was attacked backstage by a mysterious attacker. This took the wrestling legend out of commission. Meanwhile, Taz's son, Hook, found out that it was Christian Cage who attacked his father. He has since been feuding with Cage and The Patriarchy.
During the midst of his absence, the ECW legend took to social media to share a medical update indicating that he was recovering from surgery. Jim Ross responded to his tweet with an inspiring message of his own.
"Keep kicking a**!!"

Jim Ross says WWE lost confidence in D-Lo Brown after career-ending injury
Injuries are all too common in the world of professional wrestling. No matter how safe wrestlers try to be in the ring, an injury can occur at any time which is what happened to Droz.
During an episode of SmackDown in 1999, D-Lo Brown went up against Droz. During the match, Droz suffered a career-ending neck injury after Brown hit him with a running powerbomb. As a result, Droz was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life until he passed away last year.
Speaking on his Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed that management lost confidence in Brown after the incident even though he was a reliable worker.
"The office just kinda, oh hell, I don't know, lost confidence and he couldn't get away from that moment and it's too bad, too, because D'Lo, like Droz, was very well-liked and a smart guy and he could contribute with finishes, things of that nature. He was always very reliable." [36:33 – 37:00]
It will be interesting to see whether Taz will confront Christian Cage after recovering from his surgery.
