Jon Moxley is an authentic enigma of pro wrestling. The real-life version of the multi-time champion is said to be close to Moxley's on-screen character, but rarely do fans get a glimpse into the mind of the AEW and NJPW star. He lives a private life and is not a fan of social media.

The Lunatic Fringe became a big star as Dean Ambrose of The Shield in WWE. After eight years with the company, Moxley signed with AEW to debut at its inaugural event.

In recent years he has held numerous championships in AEW and NJPW. He also returned to the indies and had a run as GCW World Champion. The 38-year-old has built a massive fanbase over the years, but unlike most wrestlers, rarely does he connect with those fans on social media.

Moxley has made it clear he's not big on social media. Speaking to RJ City on AEW's "Hey! (EW)" series, the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion blasted Elon Musk's social media platform but did reveal why he keeps the popular app around.

He was reminded of how he follows no one and has not tweeted since October 25, 2021. Moxley admitted he is not the biggest fan of the app and that it brings out the worst side of everyone interacting on it. He said he only keeps it around for any possible emergency.

"Yeah, I don't like [now X] Twitter at all. It's hard to escape it because everything that's in the news, about any subject, is about something somebody said or did on Twitter. So, I'm gonna hear about it. It's impossible to escape, or if it's not Twitter it's something else, but I feel like Twitter, particularly... it brings the worst out of everyone, and the worst version of everyone, it's the worst way for people to interact. It's terrible. I think everyone should just drop it. I will keep it for emergencies, just in case I get lost or something and [Twitter is] my only communication to the world," Jon Moxley said. Jon Moxley further said that he was also afraid someone might steal his account and pretend to be him. This was another reason why he still had the app on his phone amongst a few others. Although his broad advice to everyone was to "take it off your phone."

"Or if there's some reason I need to say something to the world, it could be useful, and I don't want anybody to steal it, and start pretending to be me. So, I keep it for an emergency, but people will try to be like, 'Oh, man, can you put this up or can you promote this?,' but if I do it for one person, I have to do it for everybody. I think my advice to the entire world would be to get off that f*****g thing, take it off your phone, throw it in the garbage. We don't need Twitter," Jon Moxley said. [From 8:10 to 8:50]

Moxley's official X account was created in March 2012. As of this writing, the seven-time WWE champion has 711,153 followers. He is still following no one, not even his wife Renee Paquette, who appears to be very active on social media.

Jon Moxley set for AEW Double Or Nothing Eliminator

AEW's sixth annual Double Or Nothing pay-per-view will take place next Sunday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Jon Moxley is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, but his title will not be on the line when he faces Konosuke Takeshita in an Eliminator Match. If Takeshita is victorious, he will earn a future title shot from Moxley, perhaps at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 on Sunday, June 30 in Long Island, NY.

This will be the third singles bout between The Lunatic Fringe and The Alpha. Jon Moxley won their first two matches - at Fyter Fest on July 13, 2022, then on Rampage in December of that year.
