Former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) recently took to Twitter (X) to share a lengthy video in which he took several potshots at Will Ospreay. The duo will lock horns for the International Title at next week's Wednesday Night Dynamite.
The Salt of The Earth's unexpected heel turn earlier this month left everyone in the crowd stunned. MJF brutalized Daniel Garcia after the latter's match with Ospreay, leaving the 25-year-old in a pool of blood. While the AEW star has been one of the best heels of modern times, his babyface character has also struck a chord with fans.
Hence, MJF's sudden heel turn has shocked the wrestling world. The 28-year-old star will challenge Will Ospreay for his AEW International Title at next week's special edition of Dynamite's 250 episode.
Ahead of the dream match, MJF shared a video on his Twitter (X) account where he lashed out at The Aerial Assassin. The former AEW World Champion mentioned how fans were fickle and warned Ospreay that they would turn their backs on him sooner rather than later.
Check out his lengthy and explicit statement here.
"Do you [Will Ospreay] think I cried over Daniel Garcia? Right now, he's laid up in bed, and his mother is crying over the fact that her son has lost all feeling and functioning in his arm. You know what that does to me? That doesn't make me wanna cry; that makes me wanna smile. I saved him from the same suffering fate you'll go through, because once I beat you this Wednesday, all those fans you kill yourself for—all those fans that you think love you—you're gonna realize they are just s***s with a wandering eye. They are gonna move on to the next toy," he said. (From 1:53-2:30)
Jim Ross is happy that MJF didn't leave AEW for WWE
During a recent episode of his Grilling Jr. podcast, the legendary broadcaster stated that he was elated to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman stay in AEW rather than move to WWE. Jim Ross hailed The Salt of The Earth as among the most talented names in All Elite Wrestling, adding that he wanted to see Friedman grow even more.
"He’s [MJF] a fan of the product. I know there was a lot of speculation that he was going to leave and go to WWE, and thank goodness that didn’t happen. But I’m a big fan of his. He’s like any other young kid. He’s gotta mature; he’s gotta come along. His age has gotta catch up with his experience," Ross said.
While MJF is sure to thrive in AEW for years to come, it's safe to assume there could be a day when we could finally see him step inside a WWE ring.
