MJF reacts ahead of ex-WWE star's AEW appearance; drops a Shawn Michaels reference

A former WWE star is slated to return on AEW TV this week, and MJF reacted to it by referencing Shawn Michaels. The talent will be returning to TV after more than six months.

Mistico (fka Sin Cara in WWE) has been announced to appear on AEW TV on Wednesday. The 47-year-old veteran last appeared for All Elite Wrestling in November 2024 on an episode of Collision. During this week's four-hour Summer Blockbuster special, the CMLL legend will be in action.

The announcement also mentioned that Maxwell Jacob Friedman would be keeping an eye on Mistico ahead of Grand Slam: Mexico. MJF reacted to the X post with a popular GIF featuring WWE legend Shawn Michaels.

Last week on Fyter Fest, MJF called out the top luchadors from Mexican wrestling promotion CMLL. Therefore, he will have a close eye on Mistico's return match on AEW TV on Wednesday.

Shawn Michaels praised a former AEW World Champion's body of work

Shawn Michaels recently had high praise for former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho. While rewatching the 2002 Men's Elimination Chamber Match, HBK and Booker T opened up about how they loved working with Jericho. They also praised his body of work.

"I'm going to say I always loved working with Jericho," Booker said. "Me too, he was always a hard worker," Michaels responded. Booker continued, "Always gave everything, took it just as well he dished it out, and he wanted to take it better than anybody else, that's what I remember working with him. "Not a lazy bone in Chris' body," Michaels said. "He would definitely go out there and leave it all in the middle of that ring. But that's what it was about back then, man," Booker concluded.

Chris Jericho has not been seen on AEW TV for weeks, and only time will tell when he will be back inside the squared circle.
