MJF has set his sights on a former WWE Superstar who will be arriving in AEW next week on Dynamite. Ahead of the return to the promotion, the new Hurt Syndicate member sent out a message for him.
The aforementioned superstar, FKA Sin Cara in WWE, is Mistico. It was announced on last week's edition of Dynamite that the international sensation will be competing at the upcoming episode. The announcement caught the attention of Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who chose to address Mistico's arrival.
The Salt of the Earth boasted about his own accomplishments in Mexico and reminded the fans that he had once main-evented a show in Arena Mexico. MJF stated that he will keep a close watch on Mistico's match, following which he will consider if he is worthy of a match against him.
As the days draw near to the return of the former Sin Cara to All Elite Wrestling, the former AEW World Champion took the opportunity to take a jab at some of the greatest exports from Mexico while sending out a message for Mistico as well.
"El Santo=Mid. Mil mascaras=Mid. Blue Demon=Mid. Mistico=…I’ll be the judge this Wednesday. Let’s see what ya got, Kid."
Huge update on MJF's recent backstage reputation
Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been one of the four pillars of AEW since its inception in 2019. He is also a highly accomplished star on the roster; however, his reputation backstage was a topic of discussion on numerous occasions.
A fan enquired about the same from Sean Ross Sapp during a Fightful Q&A session. He stated that it had improved over the last year, thanks to a great effort put in by MJF himself.
"It's improved a lot over the last nine or ten months, and he's worked hard at that. There were times when it wasn't great, and the perception of him backstage wasn't great. I think a lot of that comes with being the top singles act, top tag act, and the main guy getting promo time all at once."
With The Devil having joined the ranks of MVP and his Hurt Syndicate faction, it remains to be seen if he can make a significant impact like he has done throughout his AEW tenure.
