A former WWE Superstar has just set the record straight regarding their faction in AEW. They have revealed that despite their extended absence, things were not yet over.
The Vendetta is one of the few official factions in the women's division, and so far consists of only Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie. However, things have been shaky for them, as they have not been able to assert their dominance on the roster, and both of them took losses to Harley Cameron earlier in the year.
In an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, The Virtuosa spoke about her group and discussed how they did not head in the direction she had expected. The former WWE Superstar mentioned that things weren't over yet, and both she and Valkyrie believed in the faction. They were just waiting for the next big opportunity.
"What the plans were in the beginning is not what unfolded and that's totally okay. But then it became we're not really doing much here, we can use this to kind of get the audience invested in us, and, honestly, who knows. The Vendetta is not over. I love that me and Taya as a group. I love the idea of it so much. I would love to see it come to fruition." [H/T Fightful]
Later on in the interview, Purrazzo addressed the possibility of adding another AEW star to the group. She mentioned that it was something the company planned to do down the road, depending on the development of current storylines.
Deonna Purrazzo wants to team up with a former AEW Women's World Champion
In a recent appearance on the Lightweights podcast, the former NXT Superstar mentioned how she would want to tag with Britt Baker. This was not the first time she had talked about the former AEW Women's World Champion, as she has often been vocal about wanting to work with her.
"Yeah, I mean, I think the obvious answer is Britt Baker. That's like, you know, one of my other other good friends in real life, and like, again, I've talked about her a bunch already. Like someone I've trained and traveled with, and that came up together with. So I think that is the most logical answer for me," said Purrazzo.
Baker has been on a hiatus from AEW since November, and this could be an interesting way to bring her back as the new member of Vendetta. This would give the faction more credibility and firepower, with both her and Deonna Purrazzo potentially being co-leaders. However, it remains to be seen what the actual plans for the group will be.
