Swerve Strickland just gave his honest thoughts on a young WWE Superstar. The former AEW World Champion is apparently a fan of Je'Von Evans.
Ever since arriving in NXT, Je'Von Evans has proven that he has what it takes to become a big star in WWE. In such a short time, the star has already main-evented NXT and even had an incredible match against Randy Orton not too long ago. Evans' skills have impressed several wrestlers including Swerve Strickland.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Swerve Strickland recalled how he first met Je'Von Evans several years ago and the young star told Swerve that he got into the business because of him.
āI love Jeāvon Evans, shout out to you . . . Jeāvon, extremely talented. One of the greatest things iāve ever heard in my career, still to this day, when iām was on my 90 days I was doing seminars, Jeāvon was like 16/17 years old, and it was like 20 kids. . . I go to Jeāvon and you could tell that he was the standout of the class . . . Heās like honestly I got into wrestling from watching you vs Lio Rush in DEFY. So iām āwow am I that far removed?ā

Swerve continued to praise Je'Von Evans for being humble. He even said that he is rooting for him no matter what.
āEarlier this year iām in Tampa, 21 Savage invited me to a show he walks by and iām watching and Jeāvon walks by heās like 6ā4 now and iām āGOD DAMN BOYā heās like humble, super humble kid, I love him to death. He just wrestled Randy Orton, killed it. AEW Dynamite doing its thing but man there are still people I have sentimental value in. Iām going to root for him no matter what he does or wherever he goes.ā [H/T: The Rich Eisen Show]
Swerve Strickland was all praise for EJ Nduka and Lee Johnson
EJ Nduka and Lee Johnson are two more promising stars who are making a name for themselves in AEW. In fact, when Nduka was signed to WWE, Triple H even compared him to The Rock.
During a recent interview on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Swerve Strickland was all praise for EJ Nduka and Lee Johnson.
"Shoutout EJ Nduka. He has a lot to offer. He is hungry. He has a lot āI want to prove to the world.ā Not to anybody specific, just, āI want to prove it to the world. He knows how good he can be and what he can offer. I see it in him. I talk to him, have these conversations, and heās dedicated. Week in and week out. Day in and day out, heās on it. Whether training or in the ring, heās training and working on it. Pay attention to him and Lee Johnson," said Strickland. [H/T: WrestleTalk]
It will be interesting to see if EJ Nduka and Lee Johnson will live up to the hype in the future.
