Meanwhile, some other fans stated that Chad Gable has quietly resigned and will never leave the WWE.

"He’s in a blazing hot storyline right now. He’s not leaving. But you knew there would be outside interest," tweeted a fan.
"There’s 0 chance that he leaves. They can’t afford to afford to lose a talent like Gable. Plus with the current storyline going on, it’s a no brainer to offer him a big contract," another fan stated.

A former writer believes Chad Gable could have been released from the WWE during his Shorty G gimmick

Chad Gable fell victim to an unfortunate character change in 2019 when the promotion changed his name to Shorty G. The gimmick stayed till 2020 before he reverted to his previous character and created the Alpha Academy with Otis.

Former head writer Brian Gewirtz praised Chad Gable's recent work in the WWE on the Cheap Heat podcast and claimed that Gable would have been fired if he stayed as Shorty G.

"It could've easily been, 'No, thanks!' We're sticking with Shorty G. We're going to see this out till the end, and then you see in a very small section of the WWE website [Shorty G is released], and who knows what could've happened, but to Chad's credit, he stuck through it. He stuck through that phase, and he never stopped working. He's earned this push or the amount of television time that he's been getting," Gewirtz said. [From 56:11 to 56:42]
