Summer Blockbuster saw several matches and events, but there was an unpleasant incident that took place that shocked fans around the world. Kenny Omega was brutally assaulted by Kazuchika Okada after their contract signing was interrupted by Don Callis. It was so bad that The Cleaner had to be taken away on a stretcher. One of Omega’s good friends Mark Briscoe did not like what he saw and cut a promo saying that he would get his revenge on the Japanese star.

Now, Tony Khan has taken to X/Twitter to make the match between the two stars official. He wrote:

Tony Schiavone gives update on AEW star Kenny Omega

After Kenny Omega was attacked and taken away on a stretcher, Tony Schiavone immediately gave an update regarding the health of the former AEW World Champion. He said:

“Kenny Omega has been taken to a hospital in the Portland area. Of course, we know about his diverticulitis and about how that was a career-threatening illness that he had. But the names are on the paper. But, as of now, it is going to be Kenny Omega going up against Kazuchika Okada.”

It was clear to see that The Best Bout Machine was in a lot of anguish on Wednesday. He will hopefully make a quick recovery with All In 2025 just a month away in Texas.
