Fans are divided over the idea of AEW President Tony Khan potentially hiring a recently released WWE star. The global sports entertainment juggernaut has shed multiple stars over the past few months. One of the shocking names among them was Shotzi Blackheart.
The 34-year-old star was signed to the company in 2019. While she was extremely talented, the global sports entertainment juggernaut never gave her a major chance to shine. After being with the promotion for over six years, she exited the company in May 2025. She is currently wrestling on the independent circuit.
In a recent interview, Shotzi Blackheart talked about her experience in the Stamford-based promotion and what she wants to achieve in the future. She claimed that AEW might be a top priority for her as Tony Khan has always been known to treat his talent well. She also pointed out that creative freedom attracts her to the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Shotzi Blackheart talks about her WWE exit
The 33-year-old star only recently departed WWE, but she's already working to make a name for herself on the independent wrestling scene.
While discussing the reason for her departure with Ariel Helwani, Shotzi Blackheart stated that she didn't know why WWE let her go.
“I probably will never know why they released me, but WWE doesn’t owe me anything. That’s showbiz, right? They just didn’t think that I was money and that’s OK. I can take that (...) I loved working there. I didn’t love not working there, you know what I’m saying? It was only when I wasn’t being used that I was unhappy. But anytime I was being used, good time. Loved the locker room, loved everyone I was working for," she said.
It will be interesting to see what the next destination will be for the 33-year-old.
