Top AEW star boldly claims he is better than The Rock and WWE legends

One of AEW's top names and athletes has claimed to be a superior promo artist to The Rock and two other WWE legends. The star in question, Ricochet, is currently preparing to resume his quest for championship gold in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

After amazing the WWE Universe with his high-flying prowess, The Excellence of Elevation exited the Stamford-based company last year to join All Elite Wrestling, debuting at All In: London. Since then, Ricochet has grown considerably as a performer, and viewers have praised his character work since he properly turned heel (at Swerve Strickland's expense) at the start of 2025.

The former US and Intercontinental Champion has also been quite active on social media in recent months, often interacting with fans and detractors alike, albeit seemingly in character. One such interaction took place a few hours earlier on X/Twitter, when the Illinois-native shared a meme featuring The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle.

After a user pointed out the aforementioned legends' greatness on the microphone, Ricochet responded by claiming that he was better than The Great One, The Texas Rattlesnake, and The Wrestling Machine at cutting promos.

"I'm better than all 3 on the mic," wrote Ricochet.

This was not The Future of Flight's first shot at The Rock this week, as he boasted recently that he would relegate The Final Boss and even Roman Reigns to catering if the two stars ever signed with AEW.

Ricochet's current goals in AEW

After defeating Mark Briscoe in a chaotic and bloody Stretcher Match at Double or Nothing 2025, Ricochet announced that he was going to continue pursuing championship gold in AEW. However, pointing to the faction-heavy nature of the Jacksonville-based company's current landscape, The Highlight of the Night revealed that he was on the lookout for a crew of his own to help him in his quest.

It remains to be seen who Ricochet will approach for an alliance next week on AEW programming.
