Wrestling fans accused Triple H of trying too hard to compete with AEW after Goldberg made his return on WWE RAW tonight. He, in fact, returned to challenge the new World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther.

The Ring General defeated Jey Uso to become the new World Heavyweight Champion last week. This result shocked many fans around the world, and it seemed like Triple H and WWE had a reason for having Jey drop the title he won at WrestleMania 41.

This was revealed on RAW tonight when WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg made his return, sending the fans into a frenzy. After initially congratulating Gunther, the veteran pointed out how he had made fun of his family at Bad Blood back in October of last year and how he had not forgotten it. Goldberg then challenged Gunther to a match at Saturday Night's Main Event, scheduled for July 12, which coincides with AEW All In.

Some fans on social media pointed out how the WWE CCO brought back Goldberg to counter AEW’s biggest show of the year, All In, which is taking place in Texas this year. Many fans had almost the same response to the return of the former World Champion.

Triple H reacts after Goldberg makes return

Goldberg made his rather not-so-surprising return on WWE RAW to confront Gunther. While the fans were impressed by his return, it wasn't just the fans but also Triple H.

The Game has a very chequered history with Goldberg, as they have been rivals in the past. However, he put all that behind him and welcomed the return of the WCW icon. Taking to X/Twitter, he wrote:

“No better place for @Goldberg to get back in the ring than Atlanta… #SNME get ready…”

It will be interesting to see how Goldberg will fare in his match against Gunther at next month’s Saturday Night's Main Event and whether he will win the World Championship.
