The issues between Gunther and Goldberg began at the 2024 Bad Blood Premium Live Event. The Ring General noticed the WCW veteran at the ringside and confronted him, prompting the latter to hop the barricade before security intervened.
On X, Triple H recalled his conversation with Goldberg after his appearance at Bad Blood 2024. He also hyped up the 58-year-old's impending return to in-ring competition.
"No better place for @Goldberg to get back in the ring than Atlanta… #SNME get ready…" wrote Triple H.

Gunther became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion on last week's Monday Night RAW. He defeated Jey Uso to become a two-time champion after previously dropping the title at WrestleMania 41.
Saturday Night's Main Event XL will mark The Ring General's first official title defense since regaining the championship. Meanwhile, Goldberg will return to the ring for the first time in three years.
His last match was at the 2022 Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in a losing effort to Roman Reigns, whom he unsuccessfully challenged for the Universal Championship.
