AEW star Jay White became All Elite in 2022. He has been presented as a huge deal in the promotion since his signing. He has been one of the most charismatic stars AEW can offer. While he hasn't flourished himself as a singles star yet, he dominated the tag and trios division with Gunn Club and Juice Robinson. However, injuries have held up his main event push on several occasions.

The Switchblade wrestled his last match in March 2025 against Kevin Knight. Unfortunately, he suffered a hand injury in the match. Apparently, he had a huge role in this year's Owen Hart Foundation tournament but plans were changed due to his injury. Fans were curious about his contract status with the company now that he has been absent from AEW for a couple of months.

As per Fightful.com, Tony Khan might have signed Jay White for a three-year deal. Additionally, if the injury time is added, his contract might end in 2026.

AEW President Tony Khan discussed Jay White's injury

The Switchblade's injury reportedly changed multiple creative plans for AEW. On Dynasty, he was supposed to face Will Ospreay in the opening round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

While speaking at the post-show press conference of Dynasty, Tony Khan said that he would have loved to see White wrestle at the pay-per-view. He also appreciated talents who happily covered for the injured stars.

"The past two weeks, it's no secret, the company got bit hard by an injury bug. The roster and locker room really rallied hard. To lose wrestlers like Orange Cassidy and then Jay White, back-to-back weeks, those are two of the top stars in the company and we would have loved to had both of them here tonight and everybody stepped up," he said.
