AEW star Ricky Starks has created a buzz in professional wrestling with his recent appearance in GCW. A recent report has provided an update on his All Elite Wrestling contract status.
Ricky Starks has been absent from television since March. Many believed he had a promising run ahead of him after AEW crowned him the 2023 Men's Owen Hart Cup winner. However, he wasn't booked in many notable programs before being removed from TV. Amid his hiatus, The Absolute was reportedly present backstage at Full Gear 2024.
The former FTW Champion also made an appearance for GCW, where he claimed that he was being frozen. This led fans to believe Starks was referring to his contract status.
In a recent update by Fightful Select, it was revealed that AEW had the option to extend Ricky Starks' contract in the spring of 2024. The promotion seemingly went with the plan, which means Starks would remain with All Elite Wrestling till the spring or summer of 2025. Ricky Starks was widely expected to join WWE before the development.

The Absolute has been a hot topic in professional wrestling for the past few days. He will wrestle Matt Cardona next month under the GCW banner.
In a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ricky Starks teased his next move by saying that he can show up in any promotion.
“I could end up anywhere actually. It’s not crazy. I understand it, and definitely get it. Like, you know, you just go where your friends are. Yes, I love my friends. I would like to always see them every day in my life, whether they come to me or whatever the case may be. That’s just how it is in life. You have people that you are cool with, and you’re always gonna have people say, like, well, you’re gonna do that because of this person. It’s like, Well, da*n, yeah, I can’t act on my own accord.” (H/T: chrisvanvliet.com)
