The Beast Mortos (fka Black Taurus) is among the most unique luchadors in AEW and has delivered some stellar performances in the ring. While fans certainly admire his in-ring work, many wonder how he looks without his iconic mask.

The former AAA Latin American Champion captured fans' attention with his AEW match against El Hijo del Vikingo, one of the top luchadors in the world. Besides this, Taurus has impressed many with his physique, as he looks bulkier than his fellow luchadors. But this has never affected his athleticism.

Last December, Luchablog's Twitter handle posted an old Instagram Story from The Beast Mortos. It was a mirror selfie, showing the bottom half of his face. The upper part was covered by an emoji, as luchadors do not disclose their identity easily.

What is Black Taurus' current contract status?

Over the past year, the luchador has made sporadic appearances for both AEW and ROH while still being active on the independent circuit.

Taurus reportedly signed a deal that would allow him to appear in both promotions earlier this year. This was also the reason for his name change. While competing in AAA, he had the Black Taurus moniker and he used it for his past appearances in All Elite Wrestling and ROH.

Now he has had to transition to The Beast Mortos persona, as AAA owns the Black Taurus gimmick and is reportedly not okay with the 37-year-old using the name in AEW.

In April 2024, he made three ROH appearances, winning all the matches he competed in. On the latest episode of Collision, he was in action against the returning Rey Fenix.

This was Fenix's first match in AEW since losing the International Championship to Orange Cassidy in October 2023. Meanwhile, this marked Mortos' first match in All Elite Wrestling since facing El Hijo del Vikingo in December last year.
