Fans are still recovering from the violent war that was the third-ever AEW 'Blood and Guts' match, but why did Jon Moxley surrender for his team?

On the July 19th edition of AEW Dynamite, the Blackpool Combat Club teamed up with Konosuke Takeshita and PAC to take on The Golden Elite in one of All Elite Wrestling's most violent matches: 'Blood and Guts.'

The end of the match saw Kota Ibushi, Hangman Page, and Matt Jackson choking a bloody Wheeler Yuta with a steel chain when all of a sudden, the bell rang, and The Golden Elite had been declared the winners. It was revealed shortly after that Jon Moxley had surrendered on behalf of Yuta.

But why did someone like Mox throw in the towel? The BCC are all about fighting through whatever obstacles are thrown in front of them, so giving up or tapping out simply isn't in their nature.

However, one key thing about the BCC is that they want to put the younger over, and if Mox was able to save Wheeler Yuta from sustaining more punishment, it prevents the risk of serious injury and saves him for another match later on down the line.

Jon Moxley had been handcuffed to the ropes, PAC and Konosuke Takeshita had abandoned the match, and Claudio Castagnoli was down for the count, there was no way that Wheeler Yuta could survive a five-on-one beating. Mox's decision might have gone against the code of the Blackpool Combat Club, but at the end of the day, it was the right decision.

Jon Moxley and the BCC put their differences aside with The Elite after the match

The Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite promised that this match would be the end of their rivalry, and when you've been through so much with a certain group of people when the dust settles, it's not uncommon for people to put their differences aside.

This is exactly what happened after Dynamite went off the air, as Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Jon Moxley shook hands with The Golden Elite.

Kenny Omega even got on the microphone and stated that he and the rest of The Elite have developed a huge amount of respect for the BCC over the past few months, finally putting this barbaric rivalry to a definitive end.
