When was the last time the Eagles went to a Super Bowl? Looking back while Philadelphia await their date with destiny and the Kansas City Chiefs

The Philadelphia Eagles last made the trip to the Super Bowl in 2018, when they triumphed over the highly favored New England Patriots in Minneapolis.

In what is largely known as the Nick Foles game, the Eagles took the Tom Brady-led Patriots apart in premium conditions, coming out 41-33 winners. The Eagles accumulated 538 yards of total offense, with quarterback Nick Foles, the game's MVP, leading the way.

Life peaked that year for the average Philadelphia Eagles fan, and the side hasn't reached another Super Bowl game until this season. That all changed last night as they trounced the San Francisco 49ers and made their fourth Super Bowl game and first of the new decade.

The Eagles will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs as they attempt to win their second Super Bowl in their illustrious history.

They have a Pro Bowler at QB, All-Pro offensive linemen, Pro Bowl-caliber wide receivers, an All-Pro tight end, and awesome special team players. What's more, they finished the regular season with a 14-3 record, which was the best in the NFL.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Eagles were awarded a first-round bye by finishing first in the NFC Conference. Following the bye week, they faced off against the New York Giants, who are historically dark horses in the postseason.

However, the Giants were no match for the Eagles, and they were hammered 38-7 in a one-sided contest. Next was a conference Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles were just as ruthless against the 49ers and dispatched one of the best teams in the league, 31-7. Next up is a trip to State Farm Arena to face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl game.

How is Philadelphia Eagles' QB Jalen Hurts performing this season?

Jalen Hurts has had an amazing third season in the NFL. The former Oklahoma State and Alabama Crimson Tide standout has excelled as the Eagles' undisputed QB1. Hurts has been so good that he earned an All-Pro selection, a Pro Bowl starter nod and a handful of MVP shouts all season long.

This is such a marked departure from the doubts that plagued the dual-threat QB upon entering the season. However, the job still needs to be done. Hurts still has to lead Philadelphia through the Super Bowl as they attempt to take down the high and mighty Kansas City Chiefs.

Hurts had a phenomenal statistical 2022 regular season, recording 3,701 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Hurts also added 760 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
