A brief recap of Blue Exorcist Season 4 episode 1
Blue Exorcist season 4 episode 1 started with Mephisto discussing the growing influx of demons into their world, while also drawing attention to the past actions of the Illuminati’s artificial zombie experiments from Blue Exorcist season 3.
Mephisto goes on to explain how the increasing number of demons will eventually lead to normal humans encountering them, making the demons stronger and resulting in a cascading apocalyptic event.
While Angel continues to question Mephisto's loyalty to the Order, Mephisto simply concludes the meeting by stating that he will stake his own body to keep the Gehenna Gate closed.
The episode then cuts to Rin and Yukio discussing Yukio's mysterious nighttime disappearances, after which Shiemi notices how Yukio is trying to distance himself from Rin. Rin doesn't pay much attention to this observation and proceeds with his day. The episode ends with the introduction of Lewin Light at the academy, who then takes Suguro as his apprentice.
